We also provide servicing and repair work for a wide range of vehicles.

4. Technical Services and Diagnostics

4.1 Diagnostic work is investigative and time-based.

4.2 We use specialist equipment and manufacturer-level systems where available, however some faults may be intermittent, hidden or outside manufacturer diagnostic capability.

4.3 Additional faults may be identified during testing and repair.

4.4 Diagnostic charges apply regardless of outcome.

4.5 Existing vehicle faults, aftermarket modifications, corrosion, wiring damage or prior repair attempts may affect diagnosis and repair success.

5. ECU, Control Unit and Electronic Repairs

5.1 We repair and test a wide range of automotive electronic systems and modules.

5.2 Repairs may involve replacement of internal components, firmware repair, cloning, coding, reconfiguration or software updates.

5.3 Electronic systems may contain multiple faults or damage not apparent during initial inspection.

5.4 We cannot guarantee successful repair in all cases.

5.5 Units that have suffered severe water damage, fire damage, corrosion, reverse polarity, prior failed repair attempts or physical damage may be deemed beyond economical repair.

5.6 We are not responsible for vehicle faults external to the repaired unit.

6. Injector, DCDC Converter and Specialist Component Repairs

6.1 Specialist components are repaired and tested to the extent possible using available equipment and procedures.

6.2 All repaired DCDC converters are bench tested prior to return and verified for correct charging operation between the 48V and 12V systems.

6.3 Many DCDC converter faults are caused by external vehicle issues including but not limited to defective 12V batteries, defective 48V batteries, battery management system faults, CAN communication faults, gateway faults, alternator issues, wiring faults, poor grounds, software faults or unrelated vehicle control unit faults.

6.4 Customers are responsible for ensuring:

  • The 48V battery is fully charged and in good condition
  • The 12V battery is fully charged and in good condition
  • The vehicle charging system and wiring are functioning correctly
  • Any related faults are properly diagnosed before condemning the DCDC converter

6.5 Where a customer believes a repaired DCDC converter remains faulty after installation, diagnostic evidence must be provided before any warranty claim or refund request can be considered.

6.6 Required diagnostic evidence includes:

  • Complete vehicle diagnostic scan showing all stored fault codes
  • Fault codes from all related systems including DCDC converter, BMS, CAN gateway, charging system, alternator, hybrid systems and associated control units
  • Measured 48V battery voltage and state of charge
  • Measured 12V battery voltage and state of charge
  • Live data recordings showing DCDC converter operation
  • Video evidence of live diagnostic data where possible

6.7 Mobile phone video recordings of live data screens are acceptable and encouraged.

6.8 We reserve the right to reject warranty or refund claims where insufficient diagnostic evidence is provided.

6.9 Customers are responsible for ensuring correct installation and vehicle compatibility.

6.10 We are not liable for damage caused by incorrect installation, external vehicle faults, defective batteries, wiring faults, charging system faults or defective vehicle systems.

7. Mail Order Repairs and Worldwide Services

7.1 Customers sending items to us must package them securely and use insured tracked delivery services.

7.2 We are not responsible for transit damage or losses before items arrive with us.

7.3 Return shipping costs and customs charges are payable by the customer unless agreed otherwise.

7.4 International customers are responsible for compliance with local import/export regulations.

7.5 Turnaround times are estimates only and may vary depending upon workload, testing requirements and parts availability.

8. Software Programming and Coding

8.1 Programming, coding and software services may require stable vehicle power supply, compatible hardware and functioning vehicle systems.

8.2 Existing faults or unsupported modifications may prevent successful programming.

8.3 Manufacturer software changes may alter vehicle functionality.

8.4 Some programmed or cloned units may require additional adaptation procedures on the vehicle.

9. Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Services

9.1 Hybrid and EV systems contain potentially dangerous high voltage systems.

9.2 Customers must inform us of any previous battery or high voltage system faults.

9.3 We reserve the right to refuse work where safety concerns exist.

9.4 Battery condition and capacity can vary due to age, use and environmental conditions.

10. Estimates and Pricing

10.1 Estimates are based on information available at the time provided.

10.2 Additional charges may apply if additional faults or damage are identified.

10.3 Prices may change due to component availability, exchange rates, manufacturer charges or specialist software licensing costs.

11. Payment Terms

11.1 Payment is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed.

11.2 Deposits may be required for specialist work, rare components or custom programming.

11.3 Ownership of goods remains with us until payment is received in full.

11.4 Unpaid invoices may incur recovery costs and interest where legally permitted.

12. Warranty

12.1 Unless otherwise stated, workmanship is covered by a 12 month warranty.

12.2 Warranty applies only to the repaired fault.

12.3 Electronic component repair work is carried out on the basis that vehicle systems external to the repaired unit are functioning correctly.

12.4 No refund shall be due solely because a repaired unit does not resolve a vehicle fault where the root cause is later found to be external to the repaired component.

12.5 Where a customer reports continued faults after installation, we reserve the right to request supporting diagnostic evidence before authorising further testing, warranty assessment or refund consideration.

12.6 Warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Water ingress or corrosion
  • External vehicle wiring faults
  • Over-voltage or charging faults
  • Physical damage
  • Tampering or unauthorised repair attempts
  • Competition or motorsport use
  • Defects unrelated to the repaired fault
  • Customer supplied parts

12.7 Warranty claims relating to DCDC converters, hybrid systems or associated control units may require completion of the Turner Mechatronics DCDC Diagnostic Assessment Form and submission of all requested supporting evidence before assessment can proceed.

12.8 Failure to fully complete the required diagnostic assessment documentation or provide supporting evidence may delay investigation, prevent conclusive diagnosis or result in warranty assessment being suspended until sufficient information is supplied.

12.9 Where a returned unit operates correctly during bench testing, additional customer or workshop assistance, live data recordings or vehicle testing information may be required in order to identify intermittent or external vehicle-related faults.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses including vehicle downtime, recovery costs, loss of earnings or loss of business.

13.2 Liability shall not exceed the invoice value of the work undertaken.

13.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13b. Technical Disputes, Diagnostic Procedures and Payment Disputes

13.b1 Specialist electronic repair, diagnostic, programming and hybrid system services supplied by Turner Mechatronics are technical business-to-business services provided on a professional trade basis unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

13.b2 By submitting a DCDC converter, hybrid system component or related electronic control unit for repair, testing, warranty evaluation or refund consideration, the customer agrees to comply with the Turner Mechatronics Diagnostic Assessment Procedure and provide all requested supporting technical information, diagnostic evidence and reasonable customer assistance where requested.

13.b3 The customer acknowledges that continued vehicle faults following installation do not by themselves prove failure or defect of the repaired unit.

13.b4 Turner Mechatronics bench testing procedures, operational test results, recorded measurements, software verification procedures and technical assessment data shall be considered primary technical evidence when evaluating returned units and warranty claims.

13.b5 Customers agree to contact Turner Mechatronics directly and allow reasonable opportunity for technical support, investigation and assessment before initiating any payment dispute, card issuer claim, chargeback, claim reversal or third-party recovery process.

13.b6 Failure to follow the agreed technical assessment and support procedure may:

  • Delay technical investigation
  • Prevent conclusive diagnosis
  • Affect warranty consideration
  • Result in additional testing or handling charges
  • Be considered breach of these Terms and Conditions

13.b7 Where a returned unit is found to operate correctly during testing, additional customer cooperation, live data recordings, software information, scan reports or vehicle testing information may be required in order to identify intermittent or external vehicle-related faults.

13.b8 Turner Mechatronics reserves the right to reject unsupported warranty or refund claims where insufficient diagnostic evidence has been provided.

13.b9 Returned units which pass bench testing and are found to operate correctly may be subject to additional diagnostic, handling, administration or return shipping charges.
